Secondary air injection (SAI) OFF
Disabling of the secondary air pump and valve — fault codes P0410–P0419, P2440–P2443 and related.
SAI (Secondary Air Injection) blows fresh air into the exhaust manifold after a cold start so that the catalytic converter warms up faster. The ECU monitors the pump, relay, valve and the airflow.
Symptoms of SAI problems
- Loud noise from the secondary air pump;
- Engine stalls at idle or right after start, hesitation on acceleration;
- Check Engine light, in some cases power limitation;
- Typical codes: P0410–P0414, P0418, P0419, P0491, P0492, P2440–P2443, P1420–P1424, P1432–P1435 and manufacturer-specific codes.
The system only affects cold-start emissions, so many owners choose to disable it rather than replace expensive pumps and valves. Our file disables the pump control and all related diagnostics.
